The OPALE plastic (milky translucent polycarbonate) shades are specially designed to gently diffuse light and eliminate unpleasant glare. This material is lightweight, shatter-resistant and UV stable so it will not yellow or become brittle over time. The combination of powder coated aluminum and OPALE diffuser makes the Style lighting the perfect hybrid between modern design and maximum functionality for exterior spaces.

Powder coating

Powder coating is a unique technology that uses electrostatically charged powder instead of traditional liquid paints. After application, the surface is heated, which hardens the powder into a durable layer. This process is environmentally friendly as it does not contain harmful solvents, while providing greater resistance to abrasion, corrosion and UV rays than traditional coatings. This is why it is used on high-end outdoor lighting fixtures such as Style by Ideal Lux.
