From the interior to the garden

Bellhop was originally created as a portable table for interiors, designed for a restaurant in London's Design Museum. Its success led to the expansion of the entire collection, including an exterior column version. Designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby retained the characteristic shape and soft diffused light, allowing Bellhop to blend naturally into the outdoor environment without losing its aesthetic identity.

Thoughtful technical details

Although Bellhop is visually unobtrusive, it offers a number of practical solutions - the 100-240 V power supply is already included in the package and the connection cable is neatly hidden inside the body of the lighting. The option of using the IP68 H2O Stop high protection terminal block makes light ideal for permanent exterior use, even in harsh conditions with increased humidity or rain.

Designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby (both born in 1969) set up their design studio in East London in 1996 after studying architecture together at the Royal College of Art. Since then, they have pushed the boundaries of design and contributed to the education of a new generation of designers through their lectures, workshops and studio practice. Their approach is based on experimentation, innovation and exploration of materials and colour. They work across disciplines - from architecture and interiors to sculpture, product and exhibition design. In 2004 they were awarded the Jerwood Award, in 2007 they were appointed Royal Designers for Industry (RDI) and in 2013 they were awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to design. Their work is included in the permanent collections of institutions such as the V&A and Design Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Olympic Museum in Switzerland and the Vitra Design Museum in Germany.
