Design transferred from interior to exterior

The Bellhop column light was created as an exterior version of the popular Bellhop portable table designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby. Originally intended for indoors, the lamp has gained popularity for its minimalist shape and pleasant diffused light. The outdoor version maintains a clean aesthetic expression and extends its use to gardens, pathways and public spaces.

Durability hidden in elegance

Although the Bellhop is visually subtle, its extruded and die-cast aluminium or stainless steel construction is designed to withstand the harsh outdoor conditions. With an IP65 rating, it provides high protection against water and dust when properly wired, making it an ideal choice for long-term outdoor use without compromising on design.

Designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby (both born in 1969) set up their design studio in East London in 1996 after studying architecture together at the Royal College of Art. Since then, they have pushed the boundaries of design and contributed to the education of a new generation of designers through their lectures, workshops and studio practice. Their approach is based on experimentation, innovation and exploration of materials and colour. They work across disciplines - from architecture and interiors to sculpture, product and exhibition design. In 2004 they were awarded the Jerwood Award, in 2007 they were appointed Royal Designers for Industry (RDI) and in 2013 they were awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to design. Their work is included in the permanent collections of institutions such as the V&A and Design Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Olympic Museum in Switzerland and the Vitra Design Museum in Germany.
