The Lampe Gras N°204 from the French company DCW éditions is a sophisticated wall light designed with maximum functionality in the role of a bedside lamp. Its construction is based on the iconic industrial design of Bernard-Albin Gras, while in this version the classic ball joint has been replaced by a pivot, which is better adapted to the frequent and intensive handling typical of bedside lighting. The luminaire allows easy and precise adjustment of the direction of light for comfortable reading as well as subtle ambient lighting without being distracting. The model is available as N°204 SW with an integrated switch directly on the lighting body or as N°204 without switch, allowing flexible wiring according to the specific interior and control method.

Lampe Gras N°204 was created with a clear goal - to offer a maximum practical and durable solution for night lighting. Replacing the ball joint with a pivot is not just a technical detail, but a thoughtful adaptation that ensures smooth movement and long life even when lighting is frequently adjusted. This makes it an ideal choice for bedrooms, hotel rooms and residential projects where comfort and reliability are emphasised.

Functional variability without compromising on design

The luminaire is available both with integrated switch (N°204 SW) and without switch (N°204), allowing easy adaptation to different wiring and user preferences. Despite this variability, it retains the clean industrial look that is typical of the Lampe Gras collection. Its minimalist form and timeless character make it light that fits naturally into both modern and classic interiors.

Designed by Bernard-Albin Gras

Bernard-Albin Gras was one of the most important designers of the 20th century and a major influence on the development of functional design. In 1921, he designed GRAS lighting for offices and industry that stood out for their simplicity, robustness and exceptional ergonomics, without the use of screws or welded joints. Their timeless character, precise technical details and functional aesthetics have appealed to many figures in modern architecture and art, including Le Corbusier, Robert Mallet-Stevens and Eileen Gray. GRAS Lighting were among the first to make their mark in both professional and residential environments and remain a symbol of visionary and consistently relevant design to this day.
