History and design

Lampe Gras N°122 is based on the iconic concept of Bernard-Albin Gras from 1921, who created the first fully adjustable industrial lamp. Its innovative articulated mechanism allows the arm to be rotated and tilted at will, making the lamp a practical and design piece that retains a timeless elegance.

Designed by Bernard-Albin Gras

Bernard-Albin Gras was one of the most important designers of the 20th century and a major influence on the development of functional design. In 1921, he designed GRAS lighting for offices and industry that stood out for their simplicity, robustness and exceptional ergonomics, without the use of screws or welded joints. Their timeless character, precise technical details and functional aesthetics have appealed to many figures in modern architecture and art, including Le Corbusier, Robert Mallet-Stevens and Eileen Gray. GRAS Lighting were among the first to make their mark in both professional and residential environments and remain a symbol of visionary and consistently relevant design to this day.
