light Marset Discocó surface-mounted ceiling light brings the iconic design of the Discocó collection in a more compact form without a suspension. The structure, composed of dozens of circular slats, surrounds the light source and creates a characteristic interplay of light and shadow that adds depth and atmosphere to the space. Thanks to its direct ceiling mount, it is ideal for spaces where light pendant light cannot be used, yet you still want to maintain a striking design effect. The light is directed downward and indirectly into the surrounding area, creating pleasant, glare-free lighting.

The ceiling version retains all of Discocó’s signature features—the slats, the central chrome element, and the rich play of reflections—but in a more compact design. As a result, it functions as a design installation mounted directly on the ceiling and is ideal for rooms with lower ceilings or spaces where light pendant light is impractical.

Light that shapes the space

Each slat acts as a reflector, directing light in various directions. The result is a combination of direct and indirect lighting that creates subtle transitions between light and shadow, lending the interior both dynamism and coziness.

Designed by Christophe Mathieu

Designer Christophe Mathieu is one of the key figures in contemporary lighting design, whose work is as dynamic as his life journey. Born in Germany (1961), he grew up in the Canary Islands, and his professional career took him from Barcelona to Milan—a city that fundamentally influenced his approach to industrial design.
Mathieu is known for his restless, inquisitive approach—he gradually transformed from a professional swimmer into a designer who is now one of the long-standing creators of the Marset brand. His work is characterized by the ability to combine technical functionality with emotion and create lighting that is not only practical but also visually captivating.
