The Poudrierwall light from the French brand DCW éditions is inspired by an elegant powder case or jewellery box, where the principle of opening and closing is natural, calming and understandable. The light is gently and evenly diffused through the thick glass plate throughout its depth, while inside there is a polished brass flap acting as a tilting mirror thanks to an acknowledged hinge. The intensity of the light is not adjusted by a conventional dimmer, but mechanically - by opening or closing the shutter, which gives the luminaire a haptic and intuitive character. Poudrier was originally designed for bathrooms, where it supports the quiet ritual of grooming, but it is just as natural in a hallway or entryway as a subtle, sophisticated light accent.
