The Blimppendant light by the Czech brand Bomma is the culmination of handmade glassmaking and the result of a successful collaboration with the Swiss design studio Big-Game. It is the largest light that Bomma's craftsmen can blow into a metal mould, with its clear finish appearing light and airy, while the honey-gold variant creates warm ambient lighting. With LED technology, its pleasant 2700K temperature and true-to-life colour rendering (Ra >90) make it an ideal choice for modern interiors. This collection represented a premiere for both Bomma in international collaborations and Big-Game designers in their work with glass - and the result exceeded all expectations, as Blimp combines innovative design, first-class craftsmanship and timeless elegance. The glass parts of the blimp lighting are hand-blown, and therefore the colour intensity may vary slightly.

The Blimp luminaire features premium hand-blown crystal, where skilled master glassmakers use traditional techniques to create perfectly clear and optically pure glass with subtle organic nuances - from characteristic air bubbles to slight variations in thickness that give each piece authenticity and unique character. Precision blowing into special moulds and subsequent grinding creates a luminaire with exceptional light transmission that diffuses light beautifully and creates a soft, welcoming atmosphere. This handmade process, combining centuries of tradition with modern design, leaves subtle traces of craftsmanship in the material, making Blimp not only a lighting element but also a work of art with a unique play of light and shadow.

Perfect illumination with infinitely variable control

The Blimp luminaire offers warm light (2700K) with high colour fidelity (Ra>90) that diffuses beautifully thanks to the hand-blown crystal and creates a pleasant atmosphere. The luminaire is fully dimmable - compatible with both conventional dimmers (TRIAC) and intelligent systems (DALI, 1-10V) - and allows you to infinitely control the light intensity from soft dimming to full brightness, while maintaining a stable light output without flickering or colour shifts thanks to the high-quality LED technology. This combination of performance, light quality and controllability makes Blimp the ideal choice for demanding interiors where design and functionality are combined.

Designed by Big-Game

The Swiss designers from Big-Game (Augustin Scott de Martinville, Elric Petit and Grégory Lacoua) bring the perfect combination of Swiss precision and playful elegance to the Blimp lighting. Founded in 2004 in Lausanne, this progressive trio created their first ever glass design for Bomma, surprisingly combining the industrial inspiration of airships with the delicacy of hand-blown crystal. Their distinctive style, exhibited at prestigious institutions such as MoMA and Centre Pompidou, is characterised by clean lines, intelligent playfulness and a perfect sense of proportion - which is reflected in Blimp's harmonious combination of monumental appearance with lightness and airiness. Here, the designers have proven that even traditional glass craftsmanship can be given a modern, fresh look without sacrificing functionality and elegance.
