Designed by Konstantin Grcic, the Mayday multi-purpose pendant light from Italian company Flos is an iconic design object with an emphasis on functionality, sustainability and simplicity. The luminaire has a practical handle with a hook that also serves as a cable winder. The cone-shaped diffuser is made by injection moulding from opal polypropylene, which comes from recycled industrial waste. The switch is located directly on the handle for easy handling. Due to the absence of adhesives during assembly, Mayday can be easily disassembled and each part subsequently recycled, making it not only aesthetically interesting but also an environmentally responsible light.

Konstantin Grcic is a renowned German industrial designer with roots in Serbia, known for his minimalist and geometric style. He studied in London and founded his own studio KGID in Munich. His iconic lighting include the famous Mayday lamp and the Noctambule modular system for the Flos brand. His works are part of the collections of MoMA and Centre Pompidou.
