Esther and Sam at Vantot take a very comprehensive approach to lighting design. It's not just about drawing designs - they prototype and physically build each piece to test functionality, movement and proportions. Their interest in mechanics and movement is reflected in the fact that light almost feels like a kinetic object: its lines, layers and details create the illusion of dynamics even when at rest. This process ensures that every element is well thought out, resulting in a unique combination of aesthetics and functionality, where elegance is not only visual but also technical.

Inspiration in the world around us

Designers are inspired by everything that surrounds them - from geometric shapes in nature to architecture to space objects. The form of the VVV luminaire is reminiscent of a curtain, like a stellar "galactic screen" that radiates energy and movement. When the light is turned on, there is a feeling of space travel, of speed and power, as if the space around the lighting is alive with dynamic energy. This experience combines design with emotion, making VVV not just lighting, but an interactive visual adventure.

Designed by Vantot

Esther and Sam, graduates of Design Academy Eindhoven and partners in life and in the studio they founded in Eindhoven in 2014, specialise in light, which they approach with the utmost care and attention to detail. They don't limit themselves to drawing - they prototype and create themselves, combining their love of mechanics and movement with design, and through their mathematical approach they avoid the expected and reinvent objects. They find inspiration everywhere: "Everything! We are curious and find inspiration in observing the world." Yet their lights act as invitations to travel through space; for example, light VVV light, in addition to its elegance, radiates energy where speed and force fill the space and create a unique dynamic atmosphere.
