A luminaire with a designer's personal history

Chaumont was originally created as a light for Marc Held's own apartment in Buttes-Chaumont, Paris, which gives it the unique character of a personal work. It was not a design for a large-scale production, but a light created for the everyday life of the creator - therefore it has an authentic, timeless feel and fits naturally into stylish interiors with an eye for detail.

A 1964 design that never ages

Although the design was created in 1964, Chaumont is contemporary and shows that good design is not subject to trends. Alongside architecture and interior design, it brings together the clash of past and present, proving that quality form and thoughtful function can endure for decades without the need for major changes.

Designed by Marc Held

Marc Held is a prominent French designer of the 1970s, known for his iconic Culbuto chair and his distinctive approach combining rigor with originality, tradition with modernity and architecture with interior design. He was born in 1932 and, despite his advanced age, continues to create projects that attract the attention of the professional community - for example, he recently completed the construction of a school in Senegal made of unfired clay, which showcases innovation, sustainability and deep professional commitment. "With his references to the 1970s, Marc Held cultivates a subtle dialogue between rigor and originality, past and present, architecture and interior design."
